About Our Program
Be The Bush Indiana is a 12-month residential discipleship program for men seeking freedom from life-controlling addictions and destructive patterns. Modeled after proven programs such as Adult & Teen Challenge, our approach is centered on lasting transformation through spiritual growth, personal responsibility, and structured daily living.
Our program is designed to address the root causes of addiction—not just the symptoms—by helping men build a strong foundation in faith, character, and purpose. We believe true freedom comes through a transformed life, not just temporary sobriety.
Residents participate in a highly structured environment that includes:
Biblical Discipleship & Bible Studies – Developing a personal relationship with God and applying truth to daily life
Addiction Recovery & Life Skills Classes – Gaining tools for long-term freedom and healthy living
Work Therapy – Building discipline, responsibility, and a strong work ethic through hands-on opportunities
Church Involvement – Consistent connection to a local faith community
Mentorship & Accountability – Walking alongside leaders and peers in a culture of growth and support
Volunteer Service – Giving back and developing a heart for others
Our phased, 12-month model allows men to grow progressively—spiritually, emotionally, and practically—as they prepare to re-enter society with stability, direction, and purpose.
At Be The Bush Indiana, we are committed to creating an environment where men can break free from addiction, rebuild their lives, and step into the calling God has for them.
This is more than recovery—
this is transformation.

Our Vision
Our vision at BTB Recovery Indiana is to see men set free from the bondages of addiction and any life controlling issue. We want to see them walking in a completely new identity. One where they don’t identify as men in recovery, but RECOVERED!
We are a faith based drug and alcohol rehabilitation program based off of the nationally renowned program Teen Challenge, which has an 87% success rate of graduates. Recidivism rate is currently 86% after graduation. We believe that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a born again experience allows the student to walk into a new identity and not even be the same man that he was while addicted to drugs and alcohol and to be completely set free from any signs of it.
The Bible teaches that if any man be in Christ he is a new creation. Be the Bush Indiana is a discipleship program. Our vision is to teach men who God really created them to be. Our vision is to see them established as Godly men and productive members of society.
In return the student actually becomes RECOVERED (healed) and not in a constant state of recovery like secular rehabilitations teach. We believe if God can use a bush he can use the RECOVERED addict!

Leadership
Indiana Director Elliott Hughes, CADAC II
Elliott Hughes was born and raised in Plainfield, Indiana, and has a powerful story of transformation that fuels his passion for helping others find freedom. By the age of 14, Elliott was battling addiction to drugs, pornography, and other life-controlling issues—struggles that shaped much of his early life and led him down a difficult path.
In August 2022, Elliott made a life-changing decision to enter Be The Bush Recovery Ministries in Tennessee, where he fully committed to a 12-month discipleship program. Through that experience, he encountered lasting transformation, graduated in August 2023, and discovered a renewed sense of purpose rooted in faith, discipline, and identity.
During his time in the program, God placed a clear vision on Elliott’s heart—to bring Be The Bush to Indiana. After years of prayer, planning, and preparation, that vision is now becoming a reality with the launch of Be The Bush Recovery Ministries Indiana.
Elliott holds his CADAC II (Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Consultant II) and brings both professional experience and personal understanding to the recovery space. In addition to his clinical knowledge, he has extensive experience in program development, leadership, and operations, including helping build and manage recovery-focused initiatives from the ground up.
He is married to his wife, Hannah, and together they are raising their two daughters, Eliana and Elizabeth. Elliott and his family reside in Hendricks County, Indiana, and are active members of Our Father’s House in Indianapolis.
With a deep passion to see lives restored, families rebuilt, and men walk in true freedom, Elliott is committed to helping others experience the same transformation he did. His mission is simple but powerful: to see the captives set free and lives made new through faith, structure, and community.
